How verification works

A quiet promise: every coach here is who they say they are.

Verification is the reason this directory exists. We treat it as a serious editorial responsibility, not a checkbox.

Application

Coaches submit professional credentials, certifications, professional links, and a headshot.

Review by hand

Our team reviews each submission personally and contacts the issuing body where possible to confirm credentials and accredited training.

Verified & published

Once reviewed, the profile is published to the Registry with the appropriate professional status. Every coach listed on the site has been verified.

A note on terminology

We use a small, deliberate vocabulary so the public can understand exactly what each signal means.

Verified
Every coach listed in The Coaching Registry has been reviewed by us. Verification is the standard for inclusion — not a label some coaches carry and others don't.
Credentialed
The coach holds a formal professional credential awarded by a recognized credentialing organization, such as the ICF or EMCC.
Accredited training
Completion of a coach education program recognized and accredited by a professional body.

What the badges mean

Credentialed Coach

Has completed recognized professional coach education and holds an active professional accreditation from a recognized credentialing body.

Accreditation in Progress

Has completed or is completing recognized professional coach education and is actively working toward a recognized professional accreditation.

Professionally Trained Coach

Has completed recognized professional coach education that has been reviewed and verified by The Coaching Registry.

Newly Verified

A temporary recognition shown for three months after a coach is approved for inclusion in the Registry. It has no effect on search ranking, ordering, placement, or editorial visibility.
